Opening Sequences And Enigma - Film 2

In this opening sequence I will be looking at the opening sequence of Inception and analysing the element of enigma and mystery in it.

At the start of the opening sequence of Inception we see the main character "Cobb" played by Leonardo DiCaprio passed out at shore. He is in Japan but the viewer does not know that and we are not told how he got there, what he is doing there or why he is passed out. He is found by some guards and is brought into a building where we meet a second character. An old man who asks Cobb if he came to kill him. At this point in the film it is still a mystery who the old man is.
